The Ex Convento is an iconic building of Mexico's colonnial and architectural legacy.
One of the first colonial buildings in Mexico.
First psychiatric hospital in all of America founded by Bernardino Álvarez.
It becomes the hospital with the greatest medical and scientific progress in all of America and Europe.
During the Porfirian time, the building was reduced to a quarter of its original dimension.
During the XX century, it ceased to be a hospital and government property and used for social assistance.
The building was restored by private investment along with the support of government institutions.
